Research Methodology Research methodology is a systematized investigatio n to gain new knowledge about the phenomena or problems. But in wider sense ‘methodol ogy’ includes the philosophy and practice of the whole research process. It provides standards which the researchers use for integrating data and reaching conclusion. Research methodology would be beneficial to appear for the appropriate results. The Research demands an in-depth study of the topic . The conventional method Doctrinal Research Methodology will be followed so as to undertake the non-doctri nal research methodology. The Non-Doctrinal Research Methodology will be based on samples collected from police, advocates and judges. The researcher w ill follow the observation and interview method of data collection. To undertake this study , selection of sample would be on random basis in the and around Pune city. The methodologies to be used can be explained as fo llows:- a) Primary Data (Empirical Data) The data will be collected from National Crime Reco rd Bureau (NCRB) constituted by the ministry of Home affairs. 1 Conviction in India with respect to the leading sta tes in cyber crime. The crimes will be studied from the past five year’s i. e 2006 onwards. The researcher proposes to statistically show the c rime committed in India and the different age group and the cities which depict the most number o f crimes. The researcher proposes to show the number of crimes settled and also the rate of c rimes committed in a particular area. The questionnaire method will be the main tool to c ollect data from police officials, academicians, and advocates. 1 The NCRB maintains all record of crime in data and the statistical data will be collected from the available site http://ncrb.gov.in visited on 6 th November 2012.b) Secondary Data (Doctrinal Data) All the data related to cyber crime and trans-borde r cyber crime will be collected from Primary and Secondary sources. 1) Primary Source of Data Primary Data is the data in the form of documents c ollected from governmental bodies like judiciary, Legislature and the Administrative agenc ies and relevant statutes, laws precedents of higher judiciary. 2) Secondary Source of Data The secondary source of data shall include commenta ry of non-governmental bodies, research report, law journals, treaties and dictionaries. ยท Research Models: The researcher proposes to use the methodologies wh ich are used for explicative, exploratory, descriptive and non-doctrinal research . a) Explicative method helps the researcher to ascertain the natur e and scope of research area. The researcher will use this model to study nature of cyber crime. 2 b) The Exploratory methodology will help the researcher to study newly evolving ideas or theories and principles. c) The Descriptive Model will enable the researcher to understand the state of affairs and the how the laws protect the victims of cyber crime . 2 Myneni S.R.
