Not long after the attacks, officials in the United States identified Pakinstan born Khalid Sheik Mohammed as the senior al-Qaeda strageist who produced the plot. On this day 10 years ago 19 terrorist took the lives of 2,974 people and many more that were listed missing. I remember sitting in my third grade class watching these planes crashing into these big buildings. I didnt know what to think or why somebody would do that. Many people were puzzled as to why they attacked us but the reason was based on the fact that the United States aided and supported Arab government, which in fact is al-Qaeda??™s enemy. Not long after the attacks, officials in the U.S. identified Pakistan-born Khalid Sheik Mohammed as the senior al-Qaeda strategist who orchestrated the plot. Mohammed had a past in plotting out such events like 9/11 that had been discovered but were never carried out because law enforcement put a stop to it before anything happened. This event was definitely a rude awakening for the United States that quickly led to improved air port security and many other improvements within the government.
