animal farm “Absolute power corrupts absolutely. ” When one person comes across too much power, they will become corrupt no matter what. In the novel Animal Farm the pig, Napoleon, represented a dictator who had gained too much power and became corrupt. Hitler is also an example of this. Absolute power corrupts absolutely is a statement that can be seen as true, in both Hitler as well as Napoleon from Orwell’s Animal Farm. After getting rid of Snowball, Napoleon became barbaric and gained total power over Animal Farm and turned into a dictator and a tyrant showing his corruption. … they [the dogs] dashed at Snowball, who only sprang from his place just in time to escape their snapping jaws”(Orwell 25). Nine vicious dogs are attacking Snowball because Napoleon ordered them to. Absolute power makes mediocre leaders think that they can do anything they want to anyone with no consequences. “All animals are equal, but some are more equal then others”(Orwell 63). This was a commandment set in place at the beginning of the rebellion, but the more powerful Napoleon got, the more corrupt he became and changed the commandment.

When a person gains to much power they think they are above everyone else. Napoleon figured that all the others were too scared to say something about the commandment because he was too powerful. When Napoleon gained total power over everyone he turned into a dictator and a tyrant.
