The diversity program works with different organizations that offers training and feedback on helping the business develop diversity techniques that will give them the advantage with competitors. Apple recognizes that employees bring different perspectives to the work environment. A multicultural work environment must be looked at as a learning tool, where you grow as well as help the company even more diverse in the process.

When you incorporate different cultures, races, and genders into a company it can help broaden the company’s growth and all the differences in the work place can help expand the minds of both the company as well as the employees. Diversity can reduce lawsuits and can increase marketing opportunities. The challenges to managing a diverse work group can be great. Apple has to deal with cultural differences in the global market. Of the four functions of management, the planning and organizing processes will be impacted the most. Apple has to consider the requirements and differences in customer satisfaction. For example, language is a factor when dealing with global customers and the need to have instructions in various languages is important for the customers. A major factor that affects organization like Apple is compliance with laws and regulations. Abiding by the federal, state, and agency laws has companies addressing or readdressing company ethical values.

The environment is an external factor that affect companies like Apple. The technology Apple uses to make its product is vital as Apple has been praised for efforts being green. It may appear difficult to think that technology affects Apple and Microsoft as they are one of the biggest players in producing such technology. The four functions of management: Planning, organizing, leading, and controlling are necessary to the success of Apple.

Planning or thinking is what the Apple corporation does best. Apple is known for thinking about how a product should work and what is the service the product should provide before the design is created. Apple begins planning through meetings called pony meeting in which the senior managers outline what they want in an application. Organizing deals with delegation of responsibilities to design, research, and develop the ideas that Apple has come up with. Apple’s organizing process begins with a free will for designers to come up with best corresponds to the company’s ideas.

Apples designers produce 10 devices and then dwindles it down to three that closes fit’s the idea of the company. Those three devices are given a closer look until one of the designs produces the best results. Apple continues the third function of management by meetings called paired design meetings. The paired design meetings begin in the planning stage, but continue throughout the development of the application. The final function of management is controlling. Controlling is the advantage that Apple has of its own use of the products within the company.

Who better to test the product it produces itself. Senior management will determine if the application meets the desired, look and the feel of the main idea. In order for managers, to delegate using the four functions managers have to decide which task they want to delegate. As a manager, clarify the results the company wants and determine the results they consider necessary for successful competition of the task. Clearly define the employee’s responsibility and the level of responsibility to make sure the employee understands what is being asked of them.

After a manager has given the employee the information about the delegated task, the manager should find out what the employee’s comprehension of the task. If the employee doesn’t understand then you should explain it again to them. Explain which decisions he or she may make independently and which require your approval. You should be specific and give the employee the necessary authority to accomplish the tasks, but not to much authority where they can create a major disaster before anyone can discover the problem.

Innovation is the new way of doing something or the introduction of new goods and services. Companies must adapt to changes in consumer demands and to new competitors. Products don’t sell forever, and they don’t sell for nearly as long as they have to. A company must be innovated or they will not succeed. A company has to be ready with new ways to communicate with customers and deliver the products to them. Most often innovation isn’t the product itself, but the way it is delivered. Apple using the four functions of management can help the company to innovative.

Apple use planning by setting a vision for their company to follow. Apple planning to event new produces involves setting their own priorities and look at products in a more holistic way from the point of view of the customer. In order for the planning to go through, they choose employees who want to do what is best for Apple and not what is best for them. They look for someone who is willing to set a positive influence on others and is eager to get the complete job. They organize their company depending on their experience, knowledge, and job performance.

Apple looks at every single product development, products, their developing trouble with products in which the demand is larger than they can make. This gives Apple the opportunity to see if they have increased their sales and to inform employees on company performance. In Conclusion Apple has made an impact on the world of technology by becoming a trustworthy and reliable company that has lead them to be one of the most successful companies in the world. Apple using innovation today in a business that is quickly changing it is helping businesses grow and be a great deal more efficient.
