Everyone envisions his or her future. It is reasonable to assume that all strive to achieve a long and happy life. Thanks to scientific advancement and research, the span and quality of a human life can reach a prolongation never before imagine. Families harbor histories of ailments such as gout and baldness to the serious end of the health spectrum where cancer and Alzheimer??™s wait. However, knowing one??™s genetic tendencies and being proactive is the key to fighting what is not a definite diagnosis. It is possible now more than ever before to extend our lifespan. Today over 80% of children are vaccinated. We have a multitude of antibiotics to fight infections. Through the development of medical technology and modern medicine there is a continual advancement in medication development, equipment, vaccines, diagnostic testing. With organ and tissue transplants, prosthetic limbs, and minimally invasive procedures we continue to take strides to prolonging and enhancing one??™s life.
IV. Maintaining a Proactive and Healthy Lifestyle
We must continue to do our part in the quest for a long healthy life. Like most things in life, it takes work to reap the benefits. Understanding how to eat and maintaining our health actively with our doctor??™s help is only a part. We must treat our skin right, preserve our joints, keep our muscle tone, and remember the importance of our bones as we age. As men and women there are certain differences, we have to be made aware of. There are races as well that lean more toward certain diseases. Keeping one??™s brain active is very important. One suggestion to do that is to study one??™s self. There is no manual on the human body but we are given knowledge designed to guide us. In conclusion longevity is possible now more than ever before through self-discipline, knowledge, being proactive in disease prevention and maintaining you vitality as you age.
