Nathaniel Hawthorne’s works “The Scarlet Letter” and “Young Goodman Brown” are literature classics. Hawthorne exhaustively portrays his chief subjects and thoughts in these plants. Both of these plants illustrate the effects of immorality on the human psyche. Through Hawthorne’s “The Scarlet Letter” and “Young Goodman Brown” we can clearly see that evil causes people to judge other people. evil corrupts one’s religion. and that immorality has the power to transform the human psyche. In “The Scarlet Letter” we see merely how much evil causes people to judge others.

Hawthorne efficaciously shows this through his character of Hester Prynne. Since Prynne committed the wickedness of criminal conversation. she is forced to stand upon a scaffold in forepart of the whole metropolis of Boston to be questioned and scolded.
