Homecoming by Bruce Dawe and Dulce Et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen

March 26, 2019 General Studies

Homecoming by Bruce Dawe and Dulce Et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen shared some similarities between each others. These are the theme and style of the poems which the authors have expressed by actually experiencing these events with their own two eyes. The theme is an anti war poem with strong literary languages. The gory languages with undeniably strong words which illustrates the true meaning of death, the suffering and sadness at the front lines. The stylistic techniques were used to establish the theme of both poems as a way to persuade people of the horror of war and ways of torture for one’s country.
