Afire crisis has just occurred in the company that you work for as a public relations officer. Critically discuss how you would manage this crisis and even become proactive to prevent occurrence of such an incident in the future.
Avoid key jerk reactions. Freeze all external communications and keenly monitor to what extent the fire crisis has caused destruction. Ensure that the first external communication following the crisis is a well thought out response that will resonate with the customers of the company.
Listen to other members of the public relations in the company. Discuss with the public relations team in the organization about the situation of the company in order to come up with the best approach to use in order to control everything and at the same time maintain a good name out there. Craft the most convincing language and write a press release and post on the social media and get the message visible.
Get ahead of the story. Get to know what exactly caused the fire and what have been destroyed. Inform the people about the condition of how things are and make apologies right before anyone gets to comment negatively on the social media ,also have a well- organized team that will help respond to the clients suggestions and views positively to maintain a good name even during the crisis without arguments
First apologize then take action. Be human and explain how you feel saddened by what went down due to the fire to the people in logic manner, then immediately share he policies planned to put in place to ensure that the event will not happen again. The measures and actions should be done before people lose faith and trust in the company.
