Of all the instruments that are currently in use, the trumpet has changed the most since its beginning. The earliest known trumpets were used by ancient civilizations and were hollow materials such as seashells and animal horns blown in to produce a sound. Those early trumpets from thousands of years ago were completely different than the modern day trumpets that are used in present times. People have been creating music since their beginning, instrumental and vocal. The first instruments were most likely percussion with people banging things together to make a beat. After that, primitive people also sang, and the later looked for ways to amplify their voice. To make any sound on the trumpet a person has to buzz their lips. A theory on how the first person discovered how to produce sound was them trying to get a creature out of a shell, and accidentally buzzing their lips which produced a sound from the shell. After this discovery, people began to buzz their lips into hollow objects to make sounds for communication and other various things.
