Co, Michelle Honey A. Inocencio, Ferdinand Oliva, Carl Anthony Pacalda, Richard ABSTRACT The influx of an online ordering system greatly affected what tends to be done in a matter of the blink of an eye. An online ordering system permits a customer to submit online orders for items and/or services from a store that serves both walk-in customers and online customers. The online shopping system presents an online display of an order cutoff time and an associated delivery window for items selected by the customer.

The system accepts the customer’s submission of a purchase order for the item. In addition, available service windows are presented to the customer as a function of customer selected order and service types; and further, the order picking is assigned in accordance with a picker’s preference. This study is designed to meet the needs of a home-based company. Now they started receiving orders, not just from Metro Manila, but from other parts of the country as well. Meet-ups for this kind of transaction is not advisable for clients from the provinces.

We are proposing a website with an online ordering system to help Printables Graphics Services transact orders and receive payments from places outside Metro Manila. OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY General Objective The general objective of the study is to develop a website with an online ordering system for Printables Graphics Services. Specific Objectives The specific objectives of the study is to increase the probability of attracting clients outside Metro Manila, for the clients’ easy browsing of products menu, and to make and to design a website that will help them promote and market their products online.

Delimitation The study does not cover payments through paypal and product stock inventory. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY The study focuses on the development of an online ordering system and centralizes its contents for the clients. If this system is implemented, it will be easy for online clients to order products and for the staff to receive and check orders.

This system will also help increase promotion and the possibility to cater not only to the local market but to the global market as well. Often they are a preliminary step used to create an overview of the system which can later be elaborated Flow Chart –  is a type of diagram that represents an algorithm or process, showing the steps as boxes of various kinds, and their order by connecting these with arrows.

This diagrammatic representation can give a step-by-step solution to a given problem. Entity Relationship Diagram – is a data modeling technique that creates a graphical representation of the entities, and the relationships between entities, within an information system Graphical User Interface – is a type of user interface that allows users to interact with electronic devices using images rather than text commands. GUIs can be used in computers, hand-held devices such as MP3 players, portable media players or gaming devices, household appliances and office equipment CHAPTER II: Review of Related Literature

And Studies REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES When we talk about online ordering system, we seek the importance itself. Either how is it going to help the company, how the clients will react to it or what change in income it may bring. There are related literature and studies that an online ordering system is a big help to small, medium or large companies. It is a saying that an entrepreneur, who fails to act in time, is left behind by his competitors in the business race. Entrepreneurs, who have a good business sense, believe in winning the competition by acting smart first.

They have revolutionized their business by making use of internet technology in their products and services. This is why an online ordering system is adopted by not just new business, but also those companies who have made a name for themselves. In the Philippines, a lot of clothing line companies is opening their doors for online ordering thus opening their doors for the global market. All around the world, companies are tied up with online stores like Ebay to market their products. Pizza chains and restaurants has adopted the system long ago to increase sales.

Nowadays, more and more people have access to computer and internet. People are spending more time on the web. Plus, people are looking for convenience. Online ordering for products or services has proved to be a convenient and effective way of getting the item wherever you are without the need of going to the physical store yourself. Online ordering is quicker and easier, so customers favor it once they know and trust it. It is not only a direct access to online menus, it is in fact a freedom from annoying phone/ brochure based ordering. With online ordering system, it does not only benefit the company but the clients as well.

It saves time. You can order at your pace. Customers are never put on hold. Customers need not to wait in line and a website with online ordering system is open twenty four hours a day. We see technology as an approach to a better life. It, too, has a big impact to businesses, especially with the presence of an online ordering system nowadays. It gives us the thought that technology brought the knowledge to increase revenues and target larger market. www. articles. com/food-and-beverage-articles/online-ordering-system-a-smart-too l-for-restaurants. html www. streetdirectory. om/food editorials/cooking/meat recipes/online ordering system recipe to boost up restaurant sales. html CHAPTER III: Methodology DATA GATHERING The proponent started the gathering data by submitting the request/permission letter and waited for the company’s response. After a few days, the request letter was approved and signed by the company’s owner. The proponent conducted an interview with the Printables Graphics Services’ owner to gather necessary information. Information such as the basic flow of existing transaction process, the problems they encounter, background of the company and other important facts were gathered.

These facts were evaluated and analyzed to come up with solutions that will lessen, if not eliminate, the difficulties of their system. RESPONDENTS AND SETTINGS RESPONDENTS The respondent is Ms. Leslie Sagaran, owner of Printables Graphics Services, a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology graduate from Asian College of Science and Technology. She is twenty eight years old and currently working on Convergys Solutions as a call center representative. SETTINGS The interview happened at #14 Ninong Macario Street, BF Homes Phase I, Caloocan City. Below is a snapshot of the company’s address and a map taken from google. pic] SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT LIFE CYCLE The waterfall model is a sequential software development model in which development is seen as flowing steadily downwards (like a waterfall) through several phases. In Royce’s original waterfall model, the following phases are followed in order: 1. Requirements specification 2. Design 3. Implementation 4. System Testing 5. Operation Thus the waterfall model maintains that one should move to a phase only when its preceding phase is completed and perfected. Various modified waterfall models (including Royce’s final model), however, can include slight or major variations on this process.

INSTRUMENTS AND TECHNIQUES The proponents used paper and pen for documentation during the interview and company visit. The proponents also used observation as a technique during the interview. CHAPTER IV: System Diagrams CHAPTER V: Summary of Findings, Conclusions and Recommendations FINDINGS The study attempts to determine the different principles and fundamentals in taking in an online ordering system. The proponents interviewed thoroughly in order to conduct this study. With the help of a dear friend, Ms. Leslie Sagaran, who owns and operated Printables Graphics Services, the proponents are able to finish the study in time.

The researches’ strong will, faith and willingness to sacrifice their time helped to conduct the research and finish the study and documentation on time. They worked hard to be able to gain the best possible information and find useful materials to make this study successful. CONCLUSION The key to a successful business is competence. Moreover, one of the factors of being competent is the ability to adopt new and fresh ideas. The online ordering system is widely used today from small to large businesses. It is cost-effective and is a step forward in taking advantage of today’s technology.

Wherein, the great breakthrough is resulting to not only producing quality products but also generating greater revenue as it opens the business to the global market.
