The worker created supportive relationship with Philip

The supportive adults involved in Philip’s care are Steve and Elaine; social worker and the care worker, Becky. Steve and Elaine are Philip’s friends and they created a supported relationship by reporting the abuse straight away after Philip disclosed it. The friends found him a Days Inn which is a residential care home, that is located in Elstree, Bornwood. By doing so, this allowed Philip to be able to have freedom and live an independent but supported life which created a supportive relationship since the friends supported him and wanted the best for him which led to them reporting the abuse and finding a temporary care home. The social worker created supportive relationship with Philip by listening to Philip reporting the abuse and transferring him into a permanent care home on the same day of the report. This encouraged Philip to live an independent life. By doing all of this, this encouraged the professional and Philip to build a supportive relationship which showed that Philip that he is supported and safe. Lastly, the care worker, Becky, has created a supportive with Philip by teaching him social skills which enables him to be able to socialise with others; respecting him as an individual and being sensitive such as being empathetic. Becky ensures the relationship she has with Philip is open, this will show that she understands and respects him which will encourage Philip to be able to express himself either about his thoughts or his concerns which will be resolved once expressed. Becky values Philip’s rights and supports, which shows she values him as an individual and doesn’t degrade him in any type of way.
