Today we begin a new era and a new page in the history of South Africa. Mandela, after fighting decades against apartheid and supporting 22 years of prison, he has become on this present day the first black president of South Africa. His inaugural speech was intended to create consciousness in the changes to come. With every word in his speech, he has reached the hearts of both South African and the world. He addressed the nation as its new president, expressed his gratitude to those who put them there, but the main emphases of his speech was about the enormous changes and unity South Africa will give, to show the world that the nation can become a land of freedom, equality, and justice for all, making humanity proud of it. With his spirit and emotions, he encourages the nation to unify and be prepared for those necessary changes that need to be done to end with the problems we have been facing for years.
