UBD Stage 1: Desired Result Goals: Students will be able to demonstrate and improve basic reading skills, including reading, comprehension, and meanings through listening activities. Students practice and improve language skills. Essential Understanding * Synonyms are words that have the same meanings, or nearly the same meanings. Antonyms are words with opposite or nearly opposite meanings. * It is important to study synonyms and antonyms because it helps us to widen our knowledge in vocabulary. * We can use synonyms and antonyms in identifying the meaning and the opposite of the words. We use antonyms to know the opposite of a given word for better understanding. * We often use synonyms when we write stories to avoid using the same word over and over. * Context clues can help identify synonyms and antonyms of words. | Essential Questions * What is synonyms and antonyms? * What is the difference between a synonym and antonym? * What is the importance of studying synonym and antonyms? * Where do we can use synonyms and antonyms? * When to use synonyms and antonyms? * How context clues can be used in determining synonyms and antonyms of words? | Students will know.. They will identify the opposite or same meaning of words posted in the board. The recorded activity used context clues; students will right the answer on the recorded sheet. The students will be grouped into two each student must have the unfamiliar words and they will give the synonyms and antonyms of the words by telling it to their classmates.

G- It is to develop their skills and critical thinking R- I will facilitate the students by checking their scores and correct their mistakes A-As others are waiting to be called they will think of their answers. S-Each one will be given a chance to share their unfamiliar word. P-I asks them to be in group so that they can able to interact with one another. S-Each correct answer have corresponding points that would be their quiz Stage 3: Learning Plan Learning Activities: Students will watch and listen to video containing information about synonyms and antonyms.

W-as the students are watching, they can ask if there is something that is not clear to them. H- The students will do the activity that the video instructs. E- The students will share knowledge about the activity R- As the students are giving and sharing ideas they can able to come up with a good idea. E- as an observer they observed on how they performed the task. T-They will be given a chance to finalize their work. O- After gathering the necessary information they may now proceed to their presentation.
