1. Understand what is required for competence in own work role
1.1 Describe the duties and responsibilities of own role
Providing personal centered care and support; working as part of the team; contributing to activities; respecting confidentiality and following the Trust Value.
1.2 Identify standards, regulatory equipments and agreed ways to working that may influence your knowledge, understanding and skills to carry out your work
The standards that influence the way my role is carried out are Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Care Standards Act 2000, Manual Handling Regulations 1992 (amended 2002), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Work Regulations 1992 6 Code of Practice, National Occupational Standards, Trust Value.
1.3 Describe how to ensure that own personal values, attitudes or beliefs do not obstruct the quality of care and working practice
We all have own personal values, attitudes and beliefs. To provide the high quality of care being open and understanding and respecting to others attitudes, beliefs, culture and religion.
2. Be able to reflect on own activities
2.1 Explain why reflecting on work activities is an important way to develop knowledge, skills and practices
Reflecting on practice is an important way to develop knowledge, skills and practices helps to learn from experience, develop skills and techniques. If what I learned is different I might like or need more training to ensure I’m performing and I need to understand what works and what not works and if is not work we need to do different way to meet all standards.
2.2 Assess how well own knowledge, skills and understanding meet standards
Reflecting my own work is an important way to develop knowledge, skills and practices. Its show to my knowledge, skills and understanding meet professional standard. If is not meet by standard I need to identify, understand and change the way that I worked. My work activities if I am not sure or not understand something I always ask for help or I reported to my manager.
3. Be able to agree a personal development plan
3.1 Identify sources of support and how they can be used for own learning development
Sources I can use to develop my skills are to communicate with patients, colleague at my work. I can develop my skills to attending training, or shadow my colleague to learn and meeting.
