If you are physically fit you feel better all of the time. When you are fit your overall quality of life goes up. It may do this because you are able to do more things and be a part of activities that you could not do before. Being physically fit, in a way, frees you to do other things. An example of an activity that you could not do if you were not physically fit is long distance running.

You must be very fit to do this, but it is very rewarding. You do not have to be constantly pushing your limits to see how far you can go to be physically fit; being fit can just mean being more comfortable in your own body and being less self-conscious. When you have more confidence in yourself, you can stop worrying about how you look or if you are overweight and focus on the more important things like family and friends.

Being healthy and active can lead to many positive effects that can lead to a better lifestyle. Strength or weight training is to make you stronger. It increases your metabolism and increases your muscle mass. It can also make your bones stronger for healthy aging. Flexibility helps make movement easier and improve flexibility to reduce muscle strain or pain. Balance improves your posture and prevents you from falling when doing activities. It is important that you do all of these different kinds of exercise throughout your life.

There are some habits that you must keep to maintain a healthy lifestyle. A positive outlook is important because it will keep you on the better side of things. Eating right is important because it keeps you healthy and gives you more energy to do the things that you love doing. Self-encouragement is important because if you don’t believe in yourself, how can you expect others to. And, finally, making a routine is important because you have to have a plan and keep things structured.

There are many different types of fitness programs. There are activities to
build weight, increase metabolism, increase endurance, loose body fat, maintain weight, etc. There are so many different types of exercise that I would fill up this page just by listing them. To build weight you are trying to lift more and more each time, but using more sets of lifts, and fewer repetitions with increasing weight.

This kind of exercise also increases metabolism. To increase endurance you need to train frequently and intensely. To loose body fat you need to do cardiovascular exercise and get your heart rate up. And to maintain weight you just need to do the same amount of exercise each time. There are many kinds of exercise and there is always one suited to you.

When you are fit, you have a positive outlook on life and people recognize that. When you are happy, you make other people happy. When you are fit you can be included in many activities that you would not be able to do if you were unfit such as long distance running, hiking, canoeing and many others that are beneficial to not only yourself, but those around you.

Having a balanced diet is important when you are doing exercise on a regular basis. If you are constantly eating unhealthy food, and exercising frequently, you are putting your body through unnecessary stress. If you eat healthily and make sure that you cover all of your food groups you will find staying fit a lot easier. Make sure you always eat breakfast because that gives you your energy for the whole day. When I do not eat breakfast, I find I am always tired and sometimes in a bad mood. If I have a healthy breakfast, I can have a positive outlook on my day.

Obesity is a leading cause of preventable illness and death in North America. Obesity occurs when you have a calorie intake higher than the amount of calories that you burn. If you are obese you are at risk for hypertension, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, stroke, and many other potentially fatal conditions. “In Canada, about 40% to 60% of adults have a weight problem.” This shows that we must change our national outlook on how we eat.

We can change and it will not take much work. Just 30 minutes a day for everyone who is able can change our nation. Some issues from not living an active and healthy lifestyle are obesity, which we have covered, disease, poor social life, and overall quality of life going down. Living healthily is not hard and we should all do it.
